Another picture

Sharing another picture of one of my evenings at Times Square. Strolling alone to soak in the energy level in Manhattan. This evening, I went to the hospital to visit Granny again. She does not look too good today, and I fear that she is suffering.

People may fear that accepting and thinking about death will make them morbid, or spoil their enjoyment of life's pleasures. But surprisingly, the opposite is true. Denying death makes us tense; accepting it brings peace. And it helps us become aware of what is really important in life - for example, being kind and loving to others, being honest and unselfish--so that we will put our energy into those things and avoid doing what would cause us to feel fear and regret in the face of death. -- Ven Sangye Khardo

It has been a week of ICU hospital visits. In a sense, lucky for me, this work week was scheduled with two days of Manager's Survival Kit training, so I didn't require the full focus that would otherwise be required on a typical work day. On another luckier note, it is also an event that brings all relatives together on a daily basis.

Death is a subject that most people do not like to hear about, talk about, or even think about. Why is this? After all, whether we like it or not, each and every one of us will have to die one day. And even before we have to face our own death, we will most probably have to face the deaths of other people -- our family members, friends, colleagues, and so forth. Death is a reality, a fact of life, so wouldn't it be better to approach it with openness and acceptance, rather than fear and denial? -Sangye Khadro

M&M - Times Square M&M (Oct 2007)

What I liked most about the M&M in New York was having been able to explore tons of different flavours. I bought the coffee and mint flavour home. Opposite was the Hershey's store where I bought one of my family's favourite candy, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups.

This is my first entry in 2008. A good start so far I have to say. Job opportunities are suddenly springing up for my fiance & myself. We started doing some daily chants, and attended a charity dinner for Dogs and Cats last evening. I have also finally managed to squeeze in time for Yoga on Wednesday.

Life changing choices get more difficult as you age. For the first time in my life, I did up a Pros and Con List and printed it out!! Oops but then right now, it is a little obselete as more sweet choices are springing up. I have to bear in mind what my mentor said "You shouldn't be working for the $. You have to choose what you like to do, and that is the only way you can do well. Thereafter, drive and determination will lead you to success in your selected field."
